JAKIMVA MARTIN
Jakimva martin is president of the Delta pi sigma chapter with members who are residents of Laurens, Johnson, Bibb, Peach and Houston counties. The membership of Sigma Gamma Rho truly embodies their mission statement: Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization’s programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically and economically.
In addition to serving as local chapter president, she is the Southeast Region Rhoer Coordinator, responsible for programming at the Regional Conference for the Rhoers ( the youth affiliate, a group of young ladies between the ages of 12 and 18). As Regional Rhoer Coordinator I also assist the local advisors in the southeast region by providing assistance for the programatic thrust of the individual clubs.
Jakimva Martin is employed with the Laurens County Board of Education as a school psychologist which is a position that allows her to exercise her love of children and youth on an almost daily basis to ensure their needs are met within the school systems.
